The Kennedy Caucus Room
Before being named to honor of the three Kennedy brothers who served as Senators: John F. Kennedy, Senator from Massachusetts, 1953-1960; Robert F. Kennedy, Senator from New York, 1965-1968; and Edward M. Kennedy, Senator from Massachusetts, 1962-2009 – the room was originally intended for party caucuses, or meetings where members of the same party decided upon their candidates, policies, and legislative matters. The room has served as the stage for hearings on many important Senate committee investigations, including the Sinking of the Titanic, Teapot Dome, Pearl Harbor, the Vietnam War, and Watergate.
